Mahmoud’s summer in Oslo takes a twist with his Uncle Ji’s arrival and his brother Ali’s secret, testing family loyalty in this uplifting comedy.

Based on the critically acclaimed debut novel from Gulraiz Sharif, Listen Up! is a heart-warming and energetic comedy that follows Mahmoud, a 13-year-old Norwegian-Pakistani boy living in a suburb in Oslo. When Uncle Ji visits, Mahmoud is responsible for caring for him, which crushes his hopes of enjoying a leisurely summer.  

Mahmoud's world changes drastically when his nine-year-old brother Ali starts to explore his identity and shares a secret, leading him to think about how to help his brother gain acceptance from his Pakistani family.

  Listen Up! is an entertaining and heartening portrait of a family whose loyalty is being tested. The story's international appeal will resonate with individuals from diverse, multicultural backgrounds.
