Pørni – short for Pernille – is the mother you wish you were, or had, but with the job nobody wants, which nonetheless is crucially important. Pørni is a woman who puts everyone else first, and doesn’t always make the right choices for her.

Christmas is approaching in the Middelthon och Pörni family, working hard to keep up the Christmas traditions - one year after her sister Anne passed away. The family, on the other hand, has other plans - Hanna plans a trip to Argentina, while Sigrid has an identity crisis and decides to celebrate Christmas with her dad as well as Pörni's ex-husband Finn. In addition, both nephew Leo and father Ole Johan have their own Christmas plans.
