Career, chaos, and a campaign that changes everything
Ruxx is a capable, thirty-something woman whose carefully laid plans to leave Bucharest and reunite with her long-distance partner in Los Angeles, is thrown into disarray when her powerful boss assigns her to manage his wife’s mayoral campaign. Suddenly thrust into the political spotlight and paired with a know-it-all colleague, Ruxx must navigate a world of ambition, rivalry, and public scrutiny - all while juggling family obligations and a personal life in flux.
Set in modern-day Romania, RUXX is a sharp, emotionally resonant drama that explores the tension between tradition and progress, the complexities of gender dynamics, and the personal cost of professional ambition. With a strong female lead and a richly drawn ensemble, the series offers a fresh perspective on the challenges faced by a generation caught between old values and new freedoms.
Written by Vera Ion (I’m an Old Communist Hag, Weekend Cu Mama, One Step Ahead), and directed by Iulia Rugină (Playback, Breaking News) and Octav Gheorghe (Subteran, One True Singer), the series is produced by Ionian Pavel (Subteran, Spy/Master, Hackerville). The cast features Raluca Aprodu (Memory, Vlad) in the title role, supported by Alec Secareanu (Amulet, God’s Own Country, Happy Valley), Serban Pavlu (Marocco, Monsters, Charleston), and Madalina Craiu (Remote, Mo, A Quiet Place, Clanul).
