Pørni (short for Pernille) is the mother everyone wishes they had or could be—devoted, selfless, and endlessly caring. She manages a demanding job that no one wants but that is vital to the community, all while prioritizing the needs of others, often at the expense of her own well-being.

In season three, Christmas is approaching and Pørni is determined to keep the holiday's tradition. But what Pørni takes for granted doesn’t necessarily coincide with everyone else's plans. Not only has Sigrid decided to celebrate Christmas with ex-husband Finn and Iben, Pørni's daughter endures difficulties with her friends and schoolteachers. In addition, Hanna plans a trip to Argentina while both nephew Leo and father Ole Johan have their own Christmas plans. With everyone pulling in different directions, Pørni is once again left to navigate her own needs amidst the chaos of family dynamics.
