In Halfway Home, we follow the Iraqi Massari family on their journey to find a new home when gentrification forces them out of their apartment in the Stockholm suburbs.
While facing numerous external pressures socially, culturally, and economically, as well as those that come with moving, the infighting begins as previously held grievances are aired between the family members.
Driven by the unique perspective of its creators, who pour their history into the story, Halfway Home is a series that sheds light on societal problems surrounding immigration and gentrification – delicately balancing serious topics with humour and warmth.
